Theobroma launches in Hyderabad on 1st December 2020 with their first outlet at Jubilee Hills.
Theobroma means ‘Food of the Gods’ in Greek.Theobroma Cacao is also the botanical name of the cocoa plant.
Established in 2004 as a single Parsi family-owned outlet at the iconic Cusrow Baug, Mumbai;Theobroma has since established itself as a leading food & beverage destination in a highly competitive environment and has grown to sixty outlets across Mumbai, New Delhi, NCR and Pune.
Theobroma successfully brought exclusive and indulgent desserts, pastries, chocolates, breads, savouries, sandwiches, rolls and beverages to the high streets of India and within the reach of many, setting a benchmark for delivering high quality food at honest prices.The Messman family’s commitment to quality, innovative products, affordable pricing and personalised service has ensured a long list of loyal patrons. Theobroma received PE funding from ICICI Ventures in 2017.

Theobroma is famous for its brownies. We recommend Overload Brownie, Millionaire Brownie, Cookie Brownie and our (eggless) Outrageous Brownie. Theobroma much loved cakes and desserts include Chocolate Truffle Cake, Hazelnut Praline Mousse Cake, Chocoholic, and Opium Cake.
Theobroma’s Mava Cake is made to the founders’ grandmother’s recipe and comes highly recommended.Also recommended is their Chocolate Dense Loaf and their Chocolate Chip Cookies. Other favourites include Baked Cheesecake, Chocolate Tart, Palmiers, Croissants and Wholewheat Sourdough Bread.

Kainaz Messman Harchandrai
Kainaz is currently the Creative Director at Theobroma.Kainaz is an alumna of The Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Mumbai and the Oberoi Centre of Learning & Development (OCLD), Delhi.She was a pastry chef at the Oberoi Udaivilas in Udaipur before starting Theobroma in 2004.
Tina Messman Wykes
Tina graduated from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai and is a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).Tina has worked at KPMG (Bharat S Raut), Mumbai and Newedge (Fimat), London.
