HPCL joins hands with HMDA, Urban Forestry and Tree Protection Committee, Telangana in this enormous environmental preservation drive• 10000 trees translocated from the 51 kms LPG pipeline stretch, 98% survive and grow green shoots
Hyderabad, March 2021: HPCL, as a responsible and conscious corporate citizen has successfully translocated 10,000 trees from its pipeline laying 51 kms stretch, with the support of HMDA Urban Forestry, Telangana Governmentand Tree Protection Committee. This massive environment preservation exercise was as a prelude to lay an LPG pipeline along the Outer Ring Road, from Chinnagolconda to Ghatkesar, to facilitate supply of LPG gas to the Telangana districts. The exercise was a smashing success with 98% of the trees and plants surviving within the 30 days of translocation.The team is working towards reviving and saving the othertrees too.
HPCL is carrying out the work with the necessary approvals from Urban Forestry and Tree Protection Committee under the continuous supervision from the local officers of Forest department. “Tree Protection Committee inspected the site at ORR chainage of 127 Km on March 19, 2021 and were immensely pleased with the work, seeing the fresh twigs on the plants and trees, translocated 35 days ago, says Shri. B. Seshachary, DGM, HPCL.
Shri. LCH. Thirupelu Reddy, The Dy. Conservator of Forests (Urban Parks), Urban Forestry, during his visit on March 21st and 22nd, 2021, accompanied by the Shri. B.M. Santhosh, Managing Director, HGCL; Shri. B. PrabhakarDirector, Urban Forestry and higher officials of HMDA and UF; admired the initiative of all those involved in this exercise. They were thoroughly impressed with the sight of 98% trees surviving in their newly translocated environment and advised the authorities to work towards reviving 100% trees and plants.
