National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NITHM) Celebrates World Tourism Day 2024 with a Spectacular 2-Day Fest: “Tourism and Peace”


The National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management, promoted by the Department of Tourism, Govt. of Telangana, a premier institute offering Tourism and Hospitality education since 2004 offering BBA, MBA programmes in Tourism and Hospitality and B.Sc Hotel and Hospitality Administration. The campus hosted a vibrant fest on 26th September 2024 to celebrate World Tourism Day, themed “Tourism and Peace.” The event showcased the talents and passion of over 80 students competing for prizes across various competitions.
The National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Telangana’s premier institute for blended Tourism and Hospitality education since 2004, offering BBA, MBA, and B.Sc programs, hosted a vibrant fest on 26th September 2024 to celebrate World Tourism Day. The event, themed “Tourism and Peace,” showcased the talents of over 80 students competing in various contests.
The Tourism Quiz centered on the theme of Tourism and Peace, featuring six thrilling rounds. After a closely fought contest, Souryajyothi Baksi and Kiran Kumar Yadav emerged as the winners, with Sowmith and Nithya, final-year BBA Tourism and Hospitality Management students, finishing as runners-up. Their performance showcased the depth of knowledge and enthusiasm for global tourism.
The Tourism and Hospitality Tales competition encouraged students to rediscover and present research on ethnic food, culture, art, and unique places. This platform brought out the students’ creativity and research skills, with Pavithra, a second-year BBA (T&H) student, claiming the top spot. Dharaniha, a second-year B.Sc Hotel and Hospitality Administration student, was declared the runner-up, reflecting the students’ dedication to exploring cultural richness.
In the Essay Writing Competition, based on the theme of Tourism and Peace, first-year student Sheen was awarded the top prize for her insightful essay, with Aagya, a final-year BBA Tourism and Hospitality student, taking the runner-up position.
The fest also celebrated the performing arts with a Talent Show, where Ananta Krishna 2nd Yr BBA student wowed the audience with his skillful performance on the Mridangam, earning him the first prize. Runners-up Bhakti Chauhan for painting and Mukund Sai for his mastery of multi instrument, both final-year B.Sc HHA students, captivated the audience, showcasing the diverse talents of NITHM students.
The event was graced by Smt. Ila Tripathi, IAS, Director of NITHM, who congratulated the students on their active participation and outstanding performances. She praised their talent and dedication, reaffirming the institute’s commitment to nurturing future leaders in the tourism and hospitality industries.
NITHM is honored to be the Venue Partner for the official World Tourism Day Celebrations 2024, organized by the Department of Tourism, Government of Telangana. This collaboration underscores NITHM’s pivotal role in shaping the future of tourism education and its contribution to the industry’s growth.
The fest not only spotlighted the brilliance and creativity of NITHM students but also reinforced the institute’s position as a premier hub for aspiring tourism and hospitality professionals.
